Honest note: drying is where saved seed lives or dies. Rushing damp seed into storage is the top cause of failure — give it a week of airflow and use the desiccant, every time.
Questions, answered
Can I save seed from any plant?
From open-pollinated and heirloom varieties, yes — they grow true. Hybrids (F1) do not, so the guide flags which is which.
How dry does seed need to be?
Bone dry — that is what the desiccant is for. Seed stored even slightly damp molds or loses viability fast.

The field guide covers collection timing, drying, and storage for 50+ common garden varieties, so you never have to buy the same seed twice.

The guide answered every question about timing and drying. Saved tomato and bean seed this year and the box keeps it all organized.
Handy little kit
Nice box and useful guide. The desiccant packets are the real MVP — my first batch molded before I used them properly.
