Honest note: rockwool is dusty and slightly alkaline dry — always pre-soak to pH 5.5 and wear a mask when handling a full sheet. Once wet it is harmless.

Yes — soak the cubes in pH 5.5 water for an hour before seeding. Straight from the bag rockwool runs alkaline.
