Honest note: a pH probe left to dry out is a dead probe. Keep storage solution in the cap between uses — plain water slowly ruins it too.

How often should I calibrate?
Calibrate the pH meter weekly and after storage. EC meters drift less — monthly is fine for hobby use.
Do the probes need special storage?
The pH probe must stay wet in storage solution (a few drops in the cap). A dry probe dies quickly — that is the #1 killer of pH meters.
