The details that matter
Everything that ships
- 6 liquid reagent sets
- Color comparison cards
- Digital thermometer
- Laminated range guide
- Test vials
Honest note: reagent bottles have a shelf life. Note the date you open them — old ammonia reagent reads falsely low, which is exactly the wrong direction to be wrong in.
Questions, answered
How often should I test a new system?
Daily during the first cycle to catch the ammonia and nitrite spikes. Once established, twice a week is plenty.
Are liquid tests better than strips?
Yes — liquid reagents are far more accurate than strips, especially for the low ammonia readings that matter most.
Pairs well with
Why we grow it this way
Read the water before the fish tell you
In aquaponics, water chemistry is the whole game — and by the time fish or plants look stressed, the numbers moved days ago. This master kit tests the six that matter: pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, dissolved oxygen, and general hardness, with over 150 tests per parameter.
The laminated reference translates results into plain language and ideal ranges, so you know what to do, not just what you measured.
What growers say
Essential from day one
Caught my nitrite spike mid-cycle and knew exactly what to do thanks to the guide. Way more accurate than the strips I started with.
Does the job
Clear color changes and enough tests to last a long time. The reference card lives next to my tank now.
Good, but reading colors is fiddly
Accurate once you get used to matching the shades under good light. In a dim garage it is harder than I expected.
